Middle Eastern Carved & Inlaid Lamp Table — Heirloom Restoration

This Middle Eastern carved and inlaid lamp table, a family heirloom of considerable sentimental and artistic value, arrived at our studio with damage accumulated over generations of use. The table features the elaborate hand carving and intricate mother-of-pearl and bone inlay that characterize the finest Middle Eastern woodworking traditions.

Our conservators meticulously repaired structural damage to the carved framework, reattaching separated joints and stabilizing weakened areas. The inlay work received particular attention — missing or loose pieces of mother-of-pearl and bone were replaced with carefully matched materials, hand-cut and fitted to maintain the original geometric patterns.

The restored table was refinished to enhance the interplay between the dark carved wood and the luminous inlay materials. This heirloom restoration preserves both the extraordinary craftsmanship of its unknown Middle Eastern maker and the family history this cherished piece carries.
