Historic Building — Door & Window Restoration

Historic Building Door & Window Restoration · New York, NY

Before Historic Building — Door & Window Restoration — Before
After Historic Building — Door & Window Restoration — After

This historic building’s original doors and windows had deteriorated through decades of exposure and use, compromising both the building’s architectural integrity and its energy performance. The project required sensitive restoration that would preserve the original design character while improving functionality.

Our craftsmen carefully restored each door and window unit, repairing wood frames, replacing deteriorated glazing putty, and addressing hardware issues. Where components had deteriorated beyond repair, matching replacements were fabricated using the same wood species, moulding profiles, and joinery methods as the originals.

The restored doors and windows were finished with period-appropriate coatings that provide modern weather protection while maintaining the building’s historic appearance. This comprehensive restoration project preserves the architectural character that defines the building while ensuring these elements perform reliably for decades ahead.
