This heraldic crest required expert decorative painting and gilding to restore its original ceremonial grandeur. The carved wooden crest featured faded polychrome paint and deteriorated gold leaf that no longer conveyed the vibrant, authoritative presence such heraldic elements are meant to project.

Our decorative painters and gilders worked from historical references to recreate the original colour scheme, applying traditional oil-based paints in layers to build the rich, saturated tones appropriate to heraldic decoration. The gilded elements were restored using genuine gold leaf applied with water gilding techniques, then burnished to achieve the bright, reflective finish that distinguishes fine gilding.

The completed heraldic crest presents the vivid colours and brilliant gilding that command attention and convey the prestige these emblems were designed to represent. This restoration demonstrates the enduring power of traditional decorative painting and gilding arts.
